Alive and Kicking!!

Well, well, well... Jessica felt the first kicks today!! 4 Unmistakable, undeniable punches/kicks. I, unfortunately wasn't around to feel them... I was, uh, indisposed shall we say... when Jess all of a sudden yelled from downstairs to "come quick!" I got there as quick as I could but missed the fireworks! :-(

So now I follow here everywhere with my hand on her belly just to catch the next flurry. I hope I don't drive her crazy. She mentioned that she felt alot of stretchy pains last night, so we may see some big time changes in the tummy over the next week or 2!

We saw the movie "My Super ex-girlfriend" tonight. Meh. Don't see it. Not bad for a rental.

This Friday, Jessica reaches the 18 week mark!!!

Till the next log in,
Yaphe out.

Ebay scammers!

Okay, so we're looking at getting a Bugaboo stroller for our little zygote/embryo/baby... and a place where I believe a deal might be found is of course - EBAY.

Buyers Beware!!! I almost bid on an UNBELIEVABLE deal on one of their strollers, when I noticed another listing on that very 'stroller' page warning everyone of the dangers of ebay scammers - specifically this stroller thief!

If anyone reads this post and knows someone looking for a stroller on ebay (yeah, like there's soooooo many of you :-) please be careful. You can even contact me directly at scott@theactor.net to talk about it.

Cheers!
Scott.

16 and counting.

Today marks 16 weeks.

Jess and I saw her OBGYN this morning and everything is going great. We heard the baby's heartbeat again with this little handheld thingamajiggy that the Doctor had. Oh... Jess just saw what I wrote and told me it's called a Doppler. Isn't that the Buffalo weather tracker we see on tv?? The Doppler 2000, or something? Anyway, it was so cool! It's a fast heartbeat when you hear it... but the Doc said that what we heard was an appropriate heart rate, so I guess we'll just have to take his word for it :-)

Still no morning sickness... looking like it's finished for good!

Doing a little more reading online about lots of baby stuff... we've also been watching a show on Rogers Cable called The Parenting Show, with this expert named Alyson Schafer. It's really been great hearing her speak on various topics and Jess and I like where she's coming from. She's Adlerian in methodolgy, named after some guy named Alfred Adler. Check out her site! It's pretty neat... www.alyson.ca. Just added it to the NEWLY CREATED "Links" section on the left side of our blog page!

Not much else right now, so I'll be signing off.

15 weeks...

Friday, July 7th found us at 15 weeks... just as we were heading to Peterborough for Jess' 1st cousin Will's wedding. We had a great time and received many congrats from family.

While we were there, Jess' Mom and Dad gave us our first little children's books to read to our future child... it was a 2 volume set, one of them called "Goodnight Moon". I can't remember excatly what the other title was and Jess hasn't unpacked yet from our trip. She also just took off for Vancouver on a corporate gig and will be back Tuesday. Her parents also had this practically new play-pen they were able to give us as well. I'm still not sure if we take that with us places to encage our little one, or primarily use it in our own house. Meh, who cares. It'll come in incredibly handy nonetheless! My Mom mentioned that she also has a highchair for us, and our neighbor offered up a bassinet and crib, so we're slowly getting our hands on key pieces!

I actually had a dream about strollers last night. I kid you not. My God.

Good news! The last 2 nights have been pretty much morning sickness-free!! She may be out of the woods!!! Which would be a marvelous thing because it was really getting on her nerves being so sick.

Celie, the scaredy cat, is back sleeping with us on our bed (see our last post).

Aug. 4th we go in for our 45 minute ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby! Yeah, we wanna know.

That's it for now.
Yaphe, out.
